The Summer 2024 Salesforce release brings significant enhancements to the App Builder, making it easier and more efficient for admins to customize Lightning record pages.
One of the standout features is the ability to add new fields to Dynamic Forms-enabled Lightning record pages via a wizard. Previously, adding a new field was limited to page layouts. Now, if your object has an associated Dynamic Forms-enabled Lightning record page, the wizard allows you to add the new field directly to one or more associated Lightning record pages. The field is placed as the last field in the first section of the record page, streamlining the entire customization process.
Another valuable enhancement is the ability to set component visibility on tabs, ensuring that tabs only appear when they are relevant to the user. This feature improves the experience by surfacing the right information at the right time.
Admins also now have greater control over record page layout with the introduction of the blank space component. Available in the Lightning App Builder for Dynamic Forms-enabled pages, it allows admins to add blank spaces between fields, keeping record pages visually organized and structured. The blank space component alone closed 15,000 IdeaExchange points upon release, a clear signal that the Salesforce community had been waiting for this level of layout control.
