What Should I Expect at the Event?

What Tech Volunteers Should Expect at StandUp Weekend?
As a tech volunteer for StandUp Weekend, you’ll play a key role in implementing powerful Salesforce solutions to support DFW*ATW’s mission. Volunteers will join one of the following specialized teams:
Team Grant Management – Kelly Wood
This team will configure NPSP tools to help DFW*ATW track and manage incoming grants. You’ll set up accounts for grantmakers, create opportunity records to track grant details (deliverables, deadlines, payments, fund allocation), and implement features for easy grant renewals. Your work will ensure a seamless and organized grant management process.
Team Donor Management – Jeff Martin
On this team, you’ll build tools to track detailed donor profiles, including contact details, interests, relationships, and households. You’ll also automate preferred communication methods and relationship links, making donor engagement efficient and personalized.
Team Security and Reports & Dashboards – Kimberly Perez
This team focuses on securing the Salesforce org and providing insights. Volunteers will set up role-based access controls, configure user permissions, and design custom reports and dashboards to track donor engagement, program performance, and grant progress. Your work will ensure data security while enabling informed decision-making.
Team Program Management
Join this team to implement the Program Management Module (PMM), helping DFW*ATW track resource allocation and participant progress. Tasks include setting up reports and dashboards, customizing program elements, managing service schedules, and tracking program performance. These tools will help demonstrate impact to donors and support continued funding.
Team GREATMINDS & Recognition Programs – Navaid Hussain
Support DFW*ATW’s flagship initiatives! For GREATMINDS™, you’ll focus on tools to track scholarships, events, and outreach efforts aimed at inspiring girls to explore STEM. For the Recognition Committee, you’ll build features to manage award nominations and streamline the recognition process for leaders and allies advancing women in technology.
Team ignITe Program – Paul McCollum
This team will implement solutions to support the ignITe program, which provides training and certification opportunities for women in technology. Volunteers will configure tools to track program participants, manage bootcamp logistics, and monitor the impact of these career development initiatives.

DemoOrg DemoJam Brief: Exploring the Art of the Possible for DFW*ATW

The Dallas-Fort Worth Alliance of Technology and Women (DFW*ATW) is a nonprofit dedicated to increasing women’s participation in STEM careers. They provide networking, mentorship, leadership development, and professional growth opportunities.

However, one major wish list item remains unexplored: an external-facing membership portal to help DFW*ATW better engage members, sponsors, donors, and volunteers.

This Demo Jam challenge is about exploring what’s possible—not necessarily building a full implementation but demonstrating inspiring solutions that could shape DFW*ATW’s future roadmap.

During this year’s T-Digital StandUp Weekend, volunteers will implement a fully functional Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) org to support DFW*ATW’s internal operations, including:
✅ Grant Management
✅ Donor Management
✅ Program & Volunteer Management
✅ GREATMINDS Recognition & ignITe Programs
